Best Shot Monday ~ Sugar and Spice

I think I've been bitten by the little girl bug lately. It seems that my friends all have these gorgeous and sweet little things who are so dainty and cute. I find myself sad that we decided not to try to get preggo this year for money reasons. I never thought I could do the girl thing, but watching the mother-daughter interaction has really been getting to me.

Anyhoo, my BSM this week comes from a shoot I had with this cutie. She was up all night teething and was sad and drooly. Her mama was worried about not getting any smiling shots, but I think sometimes these turn out more beautiful. She has the most amazing eyes.

I think I just felt my ovaries jump!

Beautiful Bride

This week my Best Shot comes from the wedding I shot on Friday (see description under "Assisting" post!). Whatever issues I had with the way the photography was handles, I thought the wedding was wonderful and the bride was absolutely beautiful. I haven't looked through them all yet, but this one caught my eye as one I really like. Something about her expression and the warmth of the light.

Best Shot Monday

Well, I have been failing at BSM becuase I have been so busy there have been weeks where I haven't taken a picture at all! Hopefully I can get pics of Greyson in the next few weeks, but in the meantime: my shot this week is of the Capitol Building in Austin. I shot a birthday party at this location and this weekend I shoot a retirement party at the same place - and this time I'll be taking a tripod instead of balancing my camera on a ledge in the wind!

First Best Shot Monday

Okay, I am going to try to start doing Best Shot Monday. I saw it on my friend Andrea's blog and she does a great job with it. Now Andrea, please tell me what else I am supposed to do besides posting it here and tagging it "Best Shot Monday." I'm clueless! These are my friends William and Virginia. They are so cute. This was taken in a rush in the front yard of the new home they just bought together. It was inspired by a (much better) picture I saw somewhere (but dang it I can't remember where!). I plan on trying this many more times until I get it right. Hopefully Virginia won't see it here since I wanted to give them a print for the new house. If she does it's no biggie, I guess. They are engaged (like you can't tell) and are getting married in Hawaii in June. :)
